An opening stand of 156 between Terry Crabb and Dave McGuigan paved the way for an impressive first innings of 304 from North Shore in their Auckland premier club match against Papatoetoe yesterday.
Without regular opener Richard Jones - on State Championship duty for Auckland at Eden Park - Shore were expected to struggle at Papatoetoe. But McGuigan's well-compiled 119 and the assistance he received from Crabb (68) ensured Shore were well placed heading into today's final day.
Second-placed Grafton, playing leaders Parnell at Shore Rd, also posted 300-plus in their innings.
