Defending champions Canterbury slumped to an unsettling 10-run loss to Central Districts in the opening round of the women's State Twenty-20 cricket competition in New Plymouth yesterday. At Mt Maunganui, Wellington had a comprehensive 33-run win over Northern Districts and at Molyneux Park in Alexandra, Otago were bundled out by Auckland for 105 after 19 overs, with Auckland winning by six wickets.
