Central Districts beat Canterbury by 99 runs in the State Shield one-day cricket final at Jade Stadium in Christchurch today.
Central smashed 354-5 off their 50 overs batting first and Canterbury could only manage 255 in 41.2 overs chasing the monstrous total.
Ross Taylor, 95, Jamie How, 92, and Craig Spearman, 85, all flayed the Canterbury bowlers, with Chris Cairns finishing with the best figures of 2-66.
Peter Fulton top scored for Canterbury in their innings with 59 while Jacob Oram took 3-44 for Central to help crown them the best domestic one-day side in the country.
