Cricket: CD reach State Shield final

Otago fell 19 runs short in their quest to make the State Shield one-day cricket final, losing to Central Districts in their Napier semifinal today.

Chasing Central's 274 for seven, made yesterday before rain forced the players to return today, Otago could manage just 256 for seven.

Central will now play Canterbury in the final on Sunday in Christchurch.
