Canterbury won the State Shield one-day final against Central Districts by five wickets in Christchurch today.
Chasing Central's 212 for eight at the QEII Village Green, Canterbury reached 214 for five in 35.2 overs.
Canterbury put CD into bat after winning the toss.
Ross Taylor made 50 for Central and Matthew Sinclair 37 before being run out by Chris Cairns. Jarrod Englefield hit 42 before retiring hurt.
Cairns took 4 for 53 and then top-scored for Canterbury, making an unbeaten 41.
