A five-wicket haul to Rachel Candy helped Central Districts to a decisive five-wicket win over Canterbury in a state league women's one-day cricket match yesterday.
The Palmerston North medium pacer captured career-best figures of five for 24 to fire Canterbury out for just 127 in less than 43 overs at QEII Park in Christchurch.
The target never challenged Central Districts, who cantered home with more than 12 overs and five wickets to spare after internationals Sara McGlashan struck 57 and Aimee Mason 31.
In Mt Maunganui, Otago beat Northern Districts by five wickets after running down the home side's score of 168 in a touch under 40 overs.
