Shane Warne will be immortalised in bronze with a statue of the cricketing great to be unveiled at the MCG today.
Australia's greatest Test wicket taker will join fellow cricketers Don Bradman, Keith Miller, Bill Ponsford and Dennis Lillee in perpetuity at the MCG.
Warne's statue will be unveiled nearly five years to the day after his last Test at the ground on which he took his 700th wicket and his only hat trick.
His is the 11th statue on the concourse around the MCG, joining Bradman, Miller, Ponsford, Lillee, Olympic athletes Betty Cuthbert and Shirley Strickland and AFL footballers Haydn Bunton, Leigh Matthews, Ron Barassi and Dick Reynolds.
