Former New Zealand fast bowler Shane Bond has been appointed assistant coach for Central Districts in this summer's domestic Twenty20 cricket competition.
Bond will continue his association with the team, having filled the same role when Central Districts contested the lucrative Champions League in South Africa in September, where they failed to win a game.
Bond, 35, expressed interest in coaching following his retirement from cricket earlier this year.
"So to get an opportunity with a team like Central Districts so quickly is fantastic," he said.
"I really enjoyed my time with the Stags at the Champions League. They are a team with great potential and I am really excited at the opportunity to help defend them defend their title."
