New Zealand A batsmen failed to make the most of good starts as they were dismissed for 280 against a Tamil Nadu Cricket Association 11 in India overnight.
All of the batsmen got established on a worn pitch offering some help to the spinners, but none of them could push on to make a big score.
Jamie How led the way with 44, Neil Broom followed up his century in the first tour match with 40 and BJ Watling made 38.
The two-day match, the second warm-up game of NZ A's tour of India, will resume later today in Chepauk, Chennai.
