Herschelle Gibbs' record six sixes made headlines even in America. Despite being suspended by the International Cricket Council over a domestic squabble over who governs the game in the US, Gibbs' effort still rated highly enough for Washington-based National Public Radio to give it some local context.
"You might compare Gibbs' six sixes with a baseball player hitting six home runs in a single World Series game which, by the way, has never come close to happening," NPR announced.
