Marcus North hit an unbeaten 81 to help guide Australia to a commanding 384-5 at lunch on the second day of the second test against India yesterday.
North and Tim Paine (52 not out) shared a 128-run sixth-wicket partnership at M. Chinnaswamy stadium as the Australians dictated play in the first session.
After resuming at the overnight score of 285-5, North and Paine scored at will to produce 99 runs in 24 overs.
