ADELAIDE - Betting agency Centrebet has Australia unbackable favourites to win this summer's Ashes series after its extraordinary win over England in the second Test.
Australia's six-wicket win at the Adelaide Oval gave it a 2-0 series lead, which means England cannot afford another loss in the remaining three matches if it is to retain the Ashes.
Australia needs to win the series to regain the trophy.
Centrebet said Australia was a $1.001 short favourite to win the series.
Centrebet spokesman Mark Worwood said the price was the shortest the agency had ever quoted on a bet.
England is a 100-1 chance to win the series according to Centrebet, while a draw has odds of 25-1.
Centrebet has offered odds of $2.50 on Australia whitewashing the five-match series.
