Ricky Ponting and skipper Michael Clarke both completed double centuries and shared a record 386-run stand to put Australia in total control of the fourth and final cricket test against India on day two at the Adelaide Oval.
Australia was 569-7 at tea on the second day after it had recovered from a shaky 84-3 on the first morning.
The 386-run fourth wicket stand ranks fourth highest for Australia in all tests and ended when Clarke was bowled for 210 by Umesh Yadav off the first ball he faced after the lunch break.
Australia lost four wickets after the lunch break including Ponting for 221.
Mike Hussey was run out for 25 and Peter Siddle caught for two. At tea, Brad Haddin was on 23 and Ryan Harris on 19.
