Shane Warne isn't the only member of Australia's cricket team caught out by a mobile phone.
Batsman Damien Martyn has joined Warne in being bowled by an angry partner for sending intimate text messages.
Martyn's former fiancee Helen Appleyard has decided to tell all to a women's magazine about how she called off their wedding after finding messages from another female on his phone.
The couple were due to marry in June, 2003, but eight weeks before the wedding Appleyard discovered the messages from Martyn's secret South African lover while the cricketer was having surgery in a Perth hospital.
"I found a string of messages on his mobile just weeks before our wedding. I was devastated," she says in tomorrow's edition of New Idea.
Appleyard's revelations are another Ashes tour embarrassment for an Australian team on the backfoot after a fighting comeback by England in the second Test at Edgbaston.
Warne's antics have been tabloid newspaper fodder for much of the tour.
The master bowler formally separated from his wife Simone during a recent family holiday in Spain.
The split came after British newspapers published a series of allegations linking him to other women and his pursuit of them with saucy text messages.
Simone Warne also sold her story to New Idea, which ran a two-part interview in which she explained her fury about her husband's inability to remain faithful.
Appleyard said in her interview she could not understand why Simone Warne had stood by her man for so long.
"I'm surprised Simone tolerated Shane's behaviour for so long," she said.
"For me, the moment I found out Damien was cheating I was out of there. I was heartbroken."
