The South African cricketers will look to press home their advantage on day two of the first cricket test against Australia at the WACA in Perth.
The Proteas resume this afternoon on 38 without loss in reply to Australia's first innings of 258.
Australian coach John Buchanan says his side will have to show a vast improvement on the field today.
He says the team's bowling was all over the place last night, so he expects them to get it right this time.
Play resumes at 3.30pm with South Africa skipper Graeme Smith on 18, and AB de Villiers on 14.
