Cricket: Auckland win State Championship

Auckland have won the State Championship cricket final after beating Wellington by seven wickets on the fifth and final day in Auckland today.

Chasing 208 to win, Auckland resumed at 52 for one today and comfortably reached 209 for three, with opener Richard Jones finishing unbeaten on 114.

Scores: Wellington 235 and 297 lost to Auckland 325 and 209-3 by seven wickets.
