Auckland begin their pursuit of more cricketing silverware on Sunday with a strong squad bolstered by the presence of former international Lou Vincent for the duration of the national one-day competition.
The domestic Twenty20 champions open their account at home against Northern Districts with coach Paul Strang confident they can build on that success in the extended version of the limited overs format.
"I think we proved in the HRV Cup that we have a very well balanced side and that gives us a solid base to work from in this competition," he said today.
"We've got strength in depth in the batting and a top class bowling unit."
Auckland have retained much the same squad who won the Twenty20 title, with just the addition of opener Jeet Raval to the 12 for the match against Northern Districts.
Vincent's availability is a bonus, as is that of internationals Gareth Hopkins, Kyle Mills and Daryl Tuffey.
Auckland: Andre Adams, Michael Bates, Colin de Grandhomme, Dusan Hakaraia, Roneel Hira, Gareth Hopkins (captain), Anaru Kitchen, Kyle Mills, Colin Munro, Jeet Raval, Daryl Tuffey, Lou Vincent.
