KEY POINTS:
Mohammad Ashraful's dazzling innings at Eden Park yesterday earned a big thumbs-up from New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori.
Ashraful blazed 70 from 57 balls to slice and dice the New Zealand attack apart, and for a time threaten to set a significant challenge for New Zealand.
"I thought he was pretty outstanding," Vettori said of his Bangladeshi counterpart.
"It reminded us of some of the world class players going round at the moment with his ability to hit good balls for four or six consistently. He's got an amazing eye and he's going to be a threat to us consistently through this series."
Still, Vettori acknowledged the confidence boost a win brings after copping heavy defeats in South Africa and Australia.
"There was some really good stuff out there and we've got to be tough on ourselves.
"We know we have to put in good performances leading into the England series."
