Brendon McCullum's epic innings at the Basin Reserve last month got us thinking: where does he sit in the annals of great New Zealand batsmen?
Using average as a mark of excellence and number of tests to demonstrate longevity and consistency of selection, we have compiled this scattergraph.
To qualify, players had to have played at least 10 tests for New Zealand and averaged at least 20.
Roll over the dots to find your favourite past and current players. Keep scrolling down to find a graph of test cricket's greatest batsmen. For this exercise we have a minimum of 20 test innings and an average of 45, meaning just three New Zealanders qualify.
As for Don Bradman, he was too good to fit on the chart!
