India are in complete control of the second cricket test against New Zealand after day one at the Basin Reserve.
The visitors went to stumps tonight at 100-2, 92 runs behind New Zealand's poor first-innings total of 192.
With rockstars Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma and skipper MS Dhoni still to come, India could post a huge total on day two with an improving Basin Reserve wicket to bat on.
India's innings started poorly in the third session when they lost Murali Vijay for two to the bowling of Tim Southee but Shikhar Dhawan and Cheteshwar Pujara (19) restored order before Pujara went late in the day, lbw to Trent Boult.
At stumps, Dhawan was not out on 71 with nightwatchman Ishant Sharma unbeaten on three.
