Former New Zealand cricketer Gavin Larsen has been appointed Black Caps selector.
Larsen, who played eight Tests and 121 One Day Internationals for New Zealand between 1990 and 1999, will fill the role recently vacated by Bruce Edgar.
He will assist Black Caps coach Mike Hesson in selecting New Zealand Test, ODI and T20 squads, as well as the New Zealand A side.
NZC's Head of Cricket Lindsay Crocker said Larsen's credentials stood him in good stead for the position.
"Gavin will be a real asset," said Mr Crocker. "His breadth of experience - as a player, as a Cricket World Cup administrator and a former chief executive of Cricket Wellington means he's stayed close and connected to the game."
