Cricket: Zimbabwe tri-series gets underway 

A powerful India, a proven New Zealand and a topsy-turvy Zimbabwe today begin a triangular one-day cricket series which will involve two matches in Bulawayo and five more in Harare over the next two weeks.

The three countries will meet each other twice, and the top two will compete in the final in Harare on September 6.

The Black Caps are overwhelming favourites in their match today against the home team after beating Zimbabwe in both their test matches, one by an innings and 294 runs, the other by an innings and 46.

Zimbabwe changed their test squad line-up after their poor performance.

India against New Zealand is a fascinating prospect, as both sides are regarded as being evenly matched.
