The New Zealand cricket team's assistant coach Trent Woodhill has signed a new deal to continue in the role until October 2012.
The retention of Woodhill, who joined the Black Caps' coaching team in August last year, is a timely boost for New Zealand Cricket (NZC) after bowling coach Allan Donald turned his back on the team to join South Africa.
NZC director of cricket John Buchanan said he was thrilled to have the services of Woodhill to support coach John Wright and the Black Caps.
"Trent has forged a strong and successful relationship with John and indeed the entire Black Caps unit. He has been recognised as a key influence behind the team's remarkable fielding performance at the cricket World Cup," he said.
Wright also welcomed Woodhill's decision to stick with New Zealand.
Woodhill's next assignment will be with the New Zealand A squad for winter training and the emerging players tournament in Brisbane next month.
