KEY POINTS:
Mathew Sinclair will not be giving away cricket after missing out on a national contract for the coming year.
The 32-year-old batsman joins Matthew Bell, Michael Papps and Craig Cumming in missing out on a retainer.
Sinclair concedes he is going through a tough time but said he is still passionate about the game and now just needs to sort out where he will play.
He said it is understandable he did not make the England tour but he is disappointed not to get an overall contract.
Sinclair is keeping an open mind about where his future lies and he will go to Central Districts first to see what they can offer, given he could go overseas.
He feels the timing of the contract announcements was odd as national performance reviews are to be conducted later this week. His performance review is on Thursday.
Jesse Ryder, Daniel Flynn, James Marshall, and Aaron Redmond were the preferred batting options selected in the 20 contracts.
