The Twitter offerings were kind to England and cutting for New Zealand after the T20 semifinals today in Delhi.
Before the match former England captain Michael Vaughan wrote the clash was not about being gung-ho and trying to smash New Zealand.
"Beat them with brains not brawn," he wrote.
Towards the finish his tweet read: "No runs for @Eoin16 .. But don't underestimate how brave his decision was to Bowl first .. And his cool and calculated tactics .. #GreatJob
Vaughan lauded England's cricket intelligence, the lengths they bowled, Morgan's shrewd field placings, the slightly sticky pitch and the way England backed themselves.
"Instead of making the decisions required to beat New Zealand, they simply decided to beat New Zealand and let the execution take care of itself."
Neutral Australian correspondent Jonathan Liew wrote: English teams are not supposed to play like this.
"They are certainly not supposed to win like this. Yet the assurance and serenity with which England went about their business suggested they knew how things were going to pan out all along. They were just waiting for the rest of us to catch up."
