New Zealand Cricket is taking no chances with crowd behaviour for the one-dayer against Sri Lanka in Christchurch on Tuesday.
Jade Stadium staff will be ordered to switch to selling low-alcohol beer only, if there is any repeat of the bad behaviour at the city's last one day game.
And the possibility of banning beer altogether remains on the table.
NZC Marketing Manager Peter Dwan says it is just one of a range of measures aimed at keeping a lid on crowd control.
He says there is no silver bullet which will fix crowd control problems.
Peter Dwan says there will be limits on how much beer people can buy in one trip to the bar, and other measures aimed at limiting intoxication.
New Zealand beat Sri Lanka by seven wickets in Queenstown yesterday and lead the resumed series 2-0. The first game was played at the end of 2004 before the series was postponed as a result of the tsunami in Asia.
