West Australian XI Will Bosisto and Sam Whiteman put some starch into their innings against New Zealand in their pink ball day-night two-dayer at the Waca tonight.
The innings was listing before the pair put on an entertaining 99 for the fifth wicket. By the dinner break, the WA XI had reached 237 for five, off 58 overs, with wicketkeeper Whiteman on 71 and Josh Inglis on nine.
Bosisto was out for 78 shortly before the interval, backing up from his maiden Sheffield Shield century against Victoria this week.
Bosisto had impressed, as had Whiteman, a Yorkshire-born lefthander who looked the part, with a string of boundaries.
The key to the game, however, is for New Zealand to get a good workout with the pink ball, ahead of next week's inaugural day-night test at Adelaide Oval.
