Shane Bond is an unlikely starter in international cricket, even if the so-called "rebel" Indian Cricket League (ICL) players are welcomed back to International Cricket Council (ICC) sanctioned events.
Bond has played one of three lucrative seasons in the ICL which has given him the financial security to take stock of his cricketing future.
He says it is a chapter that has closed and he can now get on with his life.
The 33-yeard-old says international cricket is tough and he is not sure he wants to go back to "the grind".
He points out it would mean sacrificing a good lifestyle where he plays for four months and then spends time at home with his three children.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) yesterday agreed to meet officials of the ICL and will present the International Cricket Council board with a report of those discussions.
The board is then expected to take a decision on officially sanctioning the ICL which is a rival to the officially-sanctioned Indian Premier League (IPL).
The ICL, started by Indian media magnate Subhash Chandra, owner of Zee Television Limited, runs parallel to the commercially successful IPL, which is owned by the BCCI.
