KEY POINTS:
New Zealand allrounder Scott Styris' arrival in the cricket tri-series against Australia and England is on hold due to a calf strain.
In another blow to the winless New Zealand side, Styris today withdrew from Auckland's State Shield match against Canterbury as a precaution after suffering the injury in recent days.
A team spokesman said the extent of the injury was unknown but he would not be joining the Black Caps as originally planned for Tuesday's match against England in Adelaide.
Meanwhile, paceman Shane Bond was to have another scan on his sore back today as mystery still surrounds the cause of the pain.
Bone scans yesterday cleared him of a spinal stress fracture.
