Cricket: Shane Bond out of South Africa match

Shane Bond has been ruled out of the Black Caps' opening Champions Trophy cricket match in India.

New Zealand Cricket says Bond reported stiffness in his back after a warm-up match, and it has been decided to rest him as a precaution.

The game against South Africa starts at 10.00pm tonight (NZT).

Meanwhile, India has comfortably beaten England in the first Group A match overnight.

England were rolled for an embarrassing 125 in their turn at bat, with India reaching the target of 126, after a few stumbles, for the loss of six wickets.
