New Zealand's new selection panel will not be known for at least three weeks.
With incumbents Ross Dykes and Brian McKechnie stepping down, New Zealand Cricket must find two new members to join John Bracewell and Sir Richard Hadlee on the panel for the next two years.
NZC chief executive Martin Snedden said they had received "a number of applications" but refused to be drawn on how many or who.
"Some have made their intentions public," said Snedden. "Others prefer not to have their names made public."
Given the speculation that Glenn Turner is being touted as a front-runner which could mean three of the selectors would be based in the lower half of the South Island, it seems likely the other selector would need to come from further north.
Snedden refuted that, saying: "We are after the best people. We are working through the applications we have and expect to make an announcement on June 13 or 14."
The national body will also need to find a replacement for high performance director John Reid who leaves NZC on June 9 for a new talent identification role at Sparc.
"We won't call for applications until some time after he has left," said Snedden.
Snedden has welcomed Dykes' appointment as chief executive at the Otago Cricket Association.
"I think it is great for him and great for Otago cricket," said Snedden. "He has spent a huge part of his life in the game as a player, manager and selector.
"He has shown real honesty and integrity in all he has done. He is a calm and sensible person and one who should be very able in that role."
One of Dykes' first jobs will be to appoint Turner's successor as Otago coach.
