KEY POINTS:
Sir Richard Hadlee, Dion Nash and Glenn Turner have been retained as national cricket selectors after a New Zealand Cricket (NZC) review.
Former New Zealand captain and India coach John Wright was considered, but it was felt that he needed time to get to know the New Zealand pool of players.
Wright was recently appointed to a high performance role by NZC.
"Richard, Dion and Glenn have the skills and knowledge we want in our selection panel, and we are very happy to retain their services," NZC chief executive Justin Vaughan said today.
Vaughan said the three selectors had been appointed on staggered contracts, to maintain continuity.
"We also wanted to ensure continuity in the selection process, to make sure we have a working panel at all times in the future.
"To that end, we have appointed the three selectors on staggered, fixed-term contracts.
"In general, selectors will be offered two-year terms, with only two retiring in any one year to allow that continuity.
"To commence the rotation, Richard and Dion have been offered one-year terms and Glenn a two-year deal, with John Bracewell already on a two-year term.
"Any of the selectors will be free to re-apply at the completion of their term."
