New Zealand opening batsman Jesse Ryder has been ruled out of the fourth one-day cricket international against Pakistan at McLean Park today with a finger injury.
Ryder sustained the injury playing for Wellington against Northern Districts in a domestic match on Sunday after he was rested for the third one-day international at Christchurch on Saturday. It was originally thought the injury was not serious enough to prevent him from playing today, but he has not recovered in time.
His provincial teammate, James Franklin, will replace him in the 11, with Jacob Oram remaining the 12th man.
It is likely Jamie How will be bumped up to open with Martin Guptill, while Franklin will play in the middle order.
Napier has turned on perfect weather and play will start on time at 1400 (NZT).
