KEY POINTS:
Former New Zealand cricket coach Steve Rixon says he may be keen to look at coaching the side again if the job came up.
He said he was not optimistic about the immediate future of the Black Caps with their current all-loss record in South Africa.
The Black Caps lost both tests, their Twenty20 game and went down as well in the first of three one-dayers yesterday, saddening Rixon who coached the side from 1996-99.
"I'd probably have a little look at it," he told radio Newstalk ZB today about coaching the team again.
The former Australian test player, who coached New South Wales on a number of occasions between 1989 and 1994, said he wasn't keen on looking for a job in Asia even though he was linked to such sides as India, Pakistan and more recently Sri Lanka.
He said it was obvious the Black Caps were struggling in South Africa and that it was hard watching them because they looked like playing with fear.
John Bracewell's tenure as the Black Caps' coach was extended by another two years this year.
The former international survived a post World Cup managerial revamp at New Zealand Cricket and his contract is scheduled to carry through to April 2009.
