Allrounder Jacob Oram and specialist opener Michael Papps were today named in the 15-man New Zealand cricket squad for next month's three-test tour of South Africa.
The former internationals were the only additions to the 13-strong team currently contesting the rain-affected third test against West Indies, which concludes here tomorrow.
New Zealand coach and convenor of selectors John Bracewell said Oram had declared himself fully fit after battling a bruised heel for the past two months, while Papps was a logical choice as they required a specialist opener.
The Black Caps depart next week and play a warm-up match against a Rest of South Africa 11 in Benoni from April 7-10.
The first test is at Centurion in Pretoria from April 15-19.
New Zealand squad: Jamie How, Hamish Marshall, Michael Papps, Peter Fulton, Stephen Fleming (captain), Nathan Astle, Jacob Oram, Scott Styris, Brendon McCullum, James Franklin, Daniel Vettori, Kyle Mills, Jeetan Patel Shane Bond, Chris Martin.
