New Zealand strolled to a 10 wicket victory winning the second test and sealing the three-match series against West Indies in convincing fashion in Wellington today.
West Indies were dismissed for 215 in their second innings midway through the second session of the fourth day which left the hosts needing only 36 runs to win.
Hamish Marshall, 23 not out, and Jamie How, nine, guided the Black Caps to 37 without loss.
West Indies began their second innings yesterday with a 180 run deficit and reached 118 for four overnight.
Play was delayed by an hour this morning, but the lost time did little to derail the Black Caps.
At lunch today West Indies were 156 for six, and besides Rawl Lewis' 40, the tail failed to wag as Kyle Mills picked off the lower order finishing with three for 29 while Chris Gayle top-scored with 68.
West Indies were the victims of some poor umpiring by Daryl Harper with Daren Powell and Lewis both caught off what replays later showed were no-balls.
New Zealand won the first test in Auckland last week by 27 runs, with the third fixture in Napier starting on Saturday.
