KEY POINTS:
Media reports of New Zealand's win over Kenya today noted the ease of the victory, which sent the Black Caps into the next round of the World Cup.
Though South Africa's victory over Scotland dominated many international sites' cricket coverage, New Zealand filled plenty of virtual column inches.
The British Press Association's report said: "Knowing victory in the Group C encounter would guarantee passage with a game to spare, Stephen Fleming's side responded in clinical fashion to avert any chance of a further shock in the Caribbean."
The BBC credited "superb Kiwi fielding" for playing a part in the win, and also highlighted the impact of the result on England: "The heavy defeat also leaves Kenya's net run-rate well adrift of England's in Group C, which would send Michael Vaughan's side through if the weather were to wash out their final group game on Saturday."
The meaning of the result for the rest of the group was also on the mind of Canada's growing number of cricket followers, sport website TSN.ca headlining its report "NZ win eliminates Canada".
Though the 148-run victory was largely without drama, the Hindu newspaper in India pointed out it was not perfect, describing the start as "tentative".
It added, referring to Stephen Fleming and Ross Taylor: "Soon after the duo had posted a century partnership, the captain fell to atrocious judgement - he called from the non-strikers' end for a non-existent single and the throw from Obuya, positioned at backward square leg, left him well stranded."
The Sydney Morning Herald was not alone in noting the dismal attendance at the game, saying: "A crowd of around only 4,500 was in the 20,000-capacity Beausejour Cricket Ground to see it."
