KEY POINTS:
Bangladesh may not have provided viable opposition but they at least enabled New Zealand's cricketers to climb the International Cricket Council (ICC) test rankings after their 2-0 series win.
The lopsided contest ended on Monday when New Zealand won the second test by an innings and 137 runs inside three days.
Captain Daniel Vettori, former skipper Stephen Fleming and pace bowler Chris Martin were the main beneficiaries of the demolition job at the Basin Reserve.
Fleming, who scored 87 in New Zealand's only innings in Wellington, moved up two places to 14th in the test batting rankings while Vettori cracked the top 30 for the first time, improving to 29th on the back of his top score of 94.
Vettori also remained third on the test allrounders list and broke back into the top 20 on the bowling list, sharing that spot with South African Andre Nel.
Martin's series haul of 13 wickets saw him overtake injured teammate James Franklin and Pakistan's Mohammad Asif to slot into 15th place.
New Zealand's series win had no impact on the overall test rankings, which saw them remain seventh, though they have made ground on sixth-placed Pakistan.
Australia leads the rankings while Kumar Sangakkara, Muttiah Muralitharan (Sri Lanka) and South African Jacques Kallis top the batting, bowling and allrounder tables respectively.
