New Zealand Cricket have a short-list of candidates for the vacant Black Caps coaching role but are keeping tight-lipped on who they are.
Chief executive Justin Vaughan said they are working through the selection process but was reluctant to give away too many details.
Vaughan wants skipper Daniel Vettori involved in the discussions with the aim of appointing a coach in time for the series against Bangladesh in February.
Former coach Any Moles resigned in October after senior players raised concerns about his abilities through the media.
