Otago allrounder James Neesham has been called into the Black Caps squad for tomorrow night's opening match in the ANZ Twenty20 series at Auckland's Eden Park.
The 22-year-old, who was part of the New Zealand side that claimed an historic one-day series victory in South Africa last month, has been called in due to injuries to Ian Butler and Grant Elliott.
Butler suffered an ankle injury in the first New Zealand XI warm-up match against England and Elliott has a quad strain. Black Caps physiotherapist Paul Close said he was confident Butler and Elliott would be available for the second T20 match in Hamilton on Tuesday.
