Andy Moles has resigned as Black Caps coach, New Zealand Cricket confirmed today.
New Zealand Cricket officials met Moles in Auckland yesterday to discuss the Englishman's future, a day after it became public that senior players have raised concerns about his abilities.
NewstalkZB reported that Moles had resigned this morning.
A review process following New Zealand's tour of Sri Lanka and South Africa ended earlier this month and was critical of Moles' performance - a revelation that overshadowed NZC annual awards ceremony here on Thursday.
Moles attended the function but had minimal interaction with the senior players, suggesting it would have been impractical for him to accompany the 15-man squad on their five-match tour of Abu Dhabi and Dubai when they leave on Tuesday.
Moles, 48, was surprisingly chosen as John Bracewell's successor last November after a number of higher profile candidates declined the appointment.
He is contracted through to the 2011 World Cup.
