KEY POINTS:
Seam bowler Michael Mason has dropped out of contention for the New Zealand to play Sri Lanka in the first cricket test starting in Christchurch tomorrow.
The Central Districts right-armer left the squad this morning after a slight hamstring strain suffered during a State Championship match last week limited his ability to bowl at full pace.
New Zealand team management have not called for a replacement as Wellington's Iain O'Brien is already in the squad and offers cover.
The playing 11 will be chosen tomorrow from a squad of 12, with either O'Brien or allrounder James Franklin likely to miss out.
