Martin Guptill has twisted his ankle and looks doubtful to play the final one-day international for New Zealand against Pakistan tomorrow at Eden Park.
Guptill suffered the injury during a fielding drill.
A profilic run-scorer in limited overs cricket across the past year, Guptill had the ankle iced immediately and took no further part in training.
Coach Mike Hesson said the opener would be monitored throughout the day.
"We won't know until tomorrow morning [if he is fit], but he's probably a 50:50 prospect at this stage."
Brendon McCullum has declared himself fit for a recall after getting through training.
He will resume the captaincy duties from Kane Williamson.
Tom Latham will open with him if Guptill does not pass muster.
