A triple breakthrough late in a prolonged opening session vindicated Daniel Vettori's decision to ask Pakistan to bat first in the second cricket test at the Basin Reserve here today.
The New Zealand captain played a major role in justifying his call, removing opener Imran Farhat and counterpart Mohammad Yousuf within three balls as Pakistan slipped from 60 without loss to 66 for three.
