Paceman Brett Lee may return to the Australian line up for the third cricket test against New Zealand
Both sides train indoors today at Eden Park in preparation for the third test starting Saturday in Auckland.
Australian skipper Ricky Ponting says Lee has done enough to earn a recall, but it depends on the selectors.
He says Lee deserves a chance before they go back to Australia and before the Ashes series mid-year.
Lee last played a test for Australia in January last year.
Ponting says that if the weather is going to be wet and sticky, having four fast bowlers in the side may be the way to go.
Where that leaves Shane Warne is anybody's guess because Ponting indicated the batting line up is unlikely to be changed.
Meanwhile, Ponting has gone into bat for the embattled Black Caps.
He says he is astounded by the amount of criticism dished out to New Zealand, despite a mounting injury toll this summer.
He says he has been a bit surprised at the media speculation and what has not been spoken about much is the injury situation, which has not helped the Black Caps.
Ponting says having Bond, Oram, Butler and Styris out of contention for selection in any side is going to make it difficult.
