KEY POINTS:
Fast bowler Chris Martin has withdrawn from the initial stages of New Zealand's upcoming cricket tour of Bangladesh because of a hamstring strain.
The 33-year-old has been ruled out of three one-day internationals next month which precede a two-match test series.
Martin, who has been plagued by the leg injury during his English county stint with Warwickshire, has been replaced by Michael Mason.
"While Chris was able to fully contribute to Warwickshire's most recent four-day match his longer term interests are best served by him cutting short his obligations, returning home for full treatment and rehabilitation before hopefully being able to head to Bangladesh to take full part in the test series," Black Caps general manager Lindsay Crocker said.
Mason is currently on tour with New Zealand A in India and will join the team directly from there.
The one-day series starts in Mirpur on October 9 with matches to follow at the same venue two days later before the finale in Chittagong on October 14.
The first test starts in Chittagong on October 17 with the second scheduled for Mirpur from October 25.
Revised New Zealand one-day squad
Daniel Vettori (captain), Grant Elliott, Daniel Flynn, Mark Gillespie, Gareth Hopkins, Jamie How, Michael Mason, Brendon McCullum, Kyle Mills, Jacob Oram, Jeetan Patel, Jesse Ryder, Tim Southee, Scott Styris, Ross Taylor.
