Martin Guptill's commanding Cricket World Cup form may not be enough to force a return to the Black Caps test squad for the upcoming tour of England.
Guptill's 547 runs saw him end as the tournament's leading run scorer, but he hasn't played a test match for almost two years.
Black Caps coach Mike Hesson said they're looking at their options ahead of naming the squad this weekend.
"That'll be discussed," he said of Guptill's possible involvement. "They're different formats and we've got a pretty settled, successful test side at the moment, but certainly Martin will be considered, absolutely."
He said everyone works on their game to play as much as they can for New Zealand, and Guptill was no exception.
