Sir Richard Hadlee has accepted an invitation to attend the New Zealand-Australia cricket series bearing his name after all.
An invitation has been issued to the New Zealand great to attend all three matches in the Chappell-Hadlee one-day series by Cricket Australia chief executive James Sutherland.
Hadlee said on Tuesday that neither he nor brother Dayle had received an invitation to attend the series for which New Zealand are the trophy holders after a 3-0 win over Australia earlier this year.
Hadlee told the Dominion Post he accepted that there had been a misunderstanding. "I'll be going across and it is good that the family is represented."
The series begins next Friday in Adelaide and ends in Hobart on December 20.
