KEY POINTS:
New Zealand batsman Peter Fulton is hoping he won't miss too much cricket after surgery on his right knee.
Canterbury's Fulton has been forced to miss the upcoming test cricket series in South Africa because of a right knee injury.
Lou Vincent has replaced him in the team.
Fulton said yesterday he was hoping to undergo surgery as soon as possible.
He was aiming at possible selection for the one-dayers in South Africa, beginning in late November, depending on the extent of the problem, The Press reported this morning.
"We'll just have to wait and see on that. I'm not really too sure what the rehab time and stuff will be."
Fulton said it was a niggly problem which had existed before the recent World Cup Twenty20 tournament in the republic. It had been painful in the field and running between wickets.
