New Zealand allrounder James Franklin sustained a finger injury during training today, putting him in doubt for tomorrow's first ODI against South Africa in Wellington.
Black Caps' physiotherapist Paul Close said Franklin dislocated a joint in the little finger of his right hand while attempting to take a catch.
"He was taken to hospital where x-rays cleared him of any fracture, but he is still is some discomfort.
There was still a reasonable chance Franklin would be fit to play tomorrow, Close said, with a fitness test scheduled for the morning to determine his availability.
"If he does miss out tomorrow we're confident he will be ready for the remaining ODI matches."
